The police registered an FIR after a 15-year-old girl resident of Pilibhit Kotwali police station circle stopped going to her school fearing an attack by a 27-year-old man in the city.
The girl's father claimed that the accused chased and harassed her several times on her way to school. He added that the accused also threatened to kill them after they lodged a written complaint with the concerned police station.
SHO Naresh Tyagi said, "The key accused has been identified as Arfan Hussain of Bhoore Khan locality, while the identification of his maternal uncle is underway. The accused is yet to be arrested."
They were booked under IPC sections 354 (assault or use of criminal force against any woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354 D (following a woman or attempting to contact such woman to promote personal interaction repeatedly despite clear indication of disinterest on the part of such women), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
